Safety information

General technical and organisational measures

Kärcher has taken a variety of security measures to protect personal information appropriately and adequately.
All data stored by Kärcher will be protected by physical and technical measures as well as procedural measures that restrict access to the information to specially authorised persons in accordance with this Data Protection Declaration.

The Kärcher websites sit behind a software firewall to prevent access from other networks that are connected to the Internet. In addition, the only employees that have access to personal information are those who require it to perform a specific task. These employees are trained in security and data protection practices and treat your information confidentially.

Secure data transmission

The transfer of your personal data in the course of participation in e-learning is encrypted using the industry standard Secure Socket Layer ('SSL') technology, (SSL encryption version 3).

Using e-learning

Kärcher collects your personal data only if this is necessary in the course of registration for, and use of, e-learning.

Kärcher employees

To register for e-learning, employees of the Kärcher Group must enter their Kärcher ID into the Kärcher Intranet. Further employee data such as first name and surname, email address and department name are automatically deposited in the system.

Kärcher commercial partner

The following data is requested of employees of the Kärcher trading partners: first name and surname, email address and, optionally, landline and mobile phone numbers.
In addition, we also store a record of which courses you use, both for internal and external users, and what you have done in those courses. The performance results from the courses (test results, etc.) are also stored.

The evaluation of e-learning results is carried out by Kärcher's training departments for the purpose of checking the user's level of knowledge as a prerequisite for participation in face-to-face training, among other things.
The training department relevant to you will be informed that you have participated in e-learning and, if a test was performed, that you have passed this. If you are an employee of a Kärcher trading partner, this information will, if necessary, also be passed on to the relevant partner management for checking the dealer certification.
If you transmit or have communicated personal data to Kärcher, this data will only be used for the purposes specified. Your personal data will only be passed on or otherwise communicated to third parties if this is necessary for the purpose of processing the e-learning, if you have given your prior consent, or if Kärcher is entitled or obligated to do so on the basis of statutory provisions.

Storage duration

The data in your user profile will be stored until the user profile is deleted.
The data from participation in the course will be saved until the course is deleted. Results from tests, learning packages and tasks and data for the completion of the course and the overall assessment will be retained until the expiration of statutory retention requirements.

There is no profiling within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation. In the context of e-learning, tests can be the basis for the proof of the required qualification in order to complete a course. Tests are evaluated automatically. The test questions for each individual course are compiled by specialists.
